Samsung restrained from making DuoS in India
The Madras High Court Monday restrained mobile phone manufacturers Samsung, Mirc Electronics and Spice Mobile and several retailers from manufacturing and selling multiple SIM holding mobile phones.
This is the first step made by Ramkumar, a 36-year-old electronics engineer, who holds the Indian patent for plurality of SIM cards in a single mobile handset as well as plurality of bluetooth devices in headphone and earphone jacks.
The case was supposed to be taken for hearing April 13. I've got no more news about that.

Samsung Omnia Dual SIM (clon)

It operates in GSM 900/1800MHz frequency, weights 125gr and has a 2.4 inch touchscreen.
It's a nice phone. Anyone pretending to have a Samsung Omnia would need to hide SUMSANG logo.

Samsung D780 Dual Sim
Samsung D780 Dual SIM (also branded as Samsung P240 DuoS) is the second Dual SIM handset made by Samsung.
The most important thing about this phone is the Dual SIM capability. This bar-style phone has a 2 megapixel camera, 2.1-inch TFT display, microSD memory expansion, FM radio, Bluetooth and MS Office document viewer.
Main disadvantages are shown at GSMarena review:
Secondary SIM good for telephony and messaging onlyAs we can read at Unwiredview, you have to reboot if you want to initiate calls from the "Secondary" card. You can buy it at ebay for about 250$, pretty expensive.
Secondary SIM dual-band only (no 1900 MHz support)
Large size
Interface options well behind the times
Poor sunlight legibility
No 3G support
Portrait-oriented camera
Poor web browser
Awkward file browser
Poor music player

B5702: Fifth Samsung Dual SIM
Samsung B5702 is their last Dual SIM phone. Previously they launched their first and most famous Dual SIM: Samsung D880 DuoS. From them on Samsung D780, Samsung D980 and Samsung S9502 were presented.
Info about this phone is still a rumor. It is supposed to be and slimmer like Samsung D880 DuoS (18,9mm thick), a 256K color QVGA display...
But as they don't say anything about WIFI or 3G, we guess B5702 won't have those features.

Samsung D880 DuoS Dual SIM
Samsung D880 DuoS was the first Dual SIM mobile from a major manufacturer. Several models had been made by little known manufacturers (such as CECT and Anycool) and mainly in Asia before Samsung D880. It was announced in October 2007 and released in December 2007.
Samsung SGH-D880 was headed for mainstream Europe. It can work with both cards simultaneously to make and receive calls, send/receive SMS messages. The phone is only 2.5G as far as Internet access goes. It's a pity that it hasn't got WI-FI connetion.
Main features:
* GSM 900/1800/1900 EDGE connectivity
* 2.3″ QVGA Display
* 3.2 Megapixel camera with autofocus
* FM Radio
* Bluetooth 2.0 A2DP, USB 2.0
* 1200 mAh battery
* Dimensions: 104×51x18.9
It was expected to cost around $700. Nowadays (January 2009) you can buy this slider handset for less than $300.

Just Dual SIM Phones
In January 2007, Dubao 728 was presented as the first Dual SIM phone.
From then on, a long list of Dual SIM cell phones started to be manufactured. But just few of them were made by famous manufacturers such us Samsung, Motorola and Philips.
As a matter of fact, most of them are Chinese cell phone clons.
The dual-SIM feature allows a device to operate on two different networks at the same time. This is great for those who need two handsets and two different phone numbers (business and personal), as they only have to carry one handset.
From today this blogger will just talk about this kind of phones.
Welcome readers and opinions!
